GBV Monitoring and Reporting Systems Training Course

Course Introduction

Gender-Based Violence (GBV) remains one of the most significant human rights, public health, and development challenges globally. Governments, humanitarian agencies, development organizations, healthcare institutions, and civil society organizations require robust GBV Monitoring and Reporting Systems to effectively prevent, detect, monitor, and respond to incidents of violence and protection concerns. Effective monitoring and reporting systems provide accurate data, facilitate evidence-based decision-making, strengthen survivor-centered interventions, improve accountability mechanisms, and support policy development and resource allocation for gender equality and protection programming.

The GBV Monitoring and Reporting Systems Training Course is designed to equip participants with practical knowledge and technical competencies in designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive GBV monitoring and reporting frameworks. The course covers GBV concepts and typologies, protection information management systems, ethical data collection methods, survivor-centered reporting approaches, indicator development, case management information systems, data analysis techniques, monitoring and evaluation frameworks, and evidence-based reporting mechanisms. Participants will gain practical skills in establishing secure and effective systems for monitoring GBV prevention and response interventions.

The training emphasizes international standards, humanitarian principles, ethical guidelines, confidentiality protocols, safeguarding mechanisms, and integrated approaches to data management and reporting. Participants will learn how to develop monitoring frameworks, establish performance indicators, conduct quality assessments, manage sensitive information, analyze trends, generate reports, and use evidence to improve protection programming and organizational performance.

Through practical exercises, simulations, case studies, collaborative learning activities, and hands-on projects, participants will strengthen their capabilities in developing and operationalizing GBV monitoring and reporting systems. The course prepares professionals to improve program effectiveness, strengthen accountability, enhance survivor protection mechanisms, support policy advocacy, and contribute to sustainable and inclusive development outcomes through effective GBV information management and reporting systems.
