Public Procurement Course

Introduction

Public procurement is a critical function in both the public and private sectors, ensuring the efficient acquisition of goods, works, and services in compliance with laws, regulations, and international best practices. This Public Procurement Training Course equips participants with essential procurement skills, including tendering procedures, contract management, supplier evaluation, negotiation, and risk management. It addresses the increasing demand for transparency, accountability, and value-for-money in procurement processes.

With globalization, digital transformation, and evolving trade policies, procurement professionals must stay updated with new frameworks such as e-procurement, sustainable procurement, green procurement, and donor-funded procurement guidelines. This course integrates international procurement standards, World Bank procurement framework, and public sector compliance requirements to build procurement excellence.

The program emphasizes procurement planning, sourcing strategies, supplier relationship management, and ethical practices. Participants will explore real-world procurement case studies, covering donor-funded projects, infrastructure development, humanitarian aid procurement, and emergency response supply chains. The course also integrates modern procurement tools like data analytics, e-procurement platforms, and performance-based contracting.

By the end of the program, participants will be able to effectively design, implement, and monitor procurement processes that meet both organizational needs and legal frameworks, while ensuring cost-effectiveness, transparency, accountability, and sustainability.
