Nutrition Sensitive Programming and Nutrition Resilience Programming Course

Introduction

Nutrition Sensitive Programming and Nutrition Resilience Programming are globally recognized approaches that address the root causes of malnutrition, food insecurity, and poor health outcomes. This advanced professional course is designed to equip development practitioners, humanitarian workers, government officers, and NGO staff with practical skills in nutrition-sensitive agriculture, food security and nutrition programming, community nutrition resilience building, maternal and child nutrition, social protection, and climate-smart nutrition interventions. The course focuses on integrating nutrition objectives into agriculture, health, WASH, education, and livelihood programs to ensure sustainable nutrition impact.

With increasing climate shocks, displacement, economic instability, and food system disruptions, organizations require professionals who can design nutrition resilience strategies, emergency nutrition preparedness plans, community-based nutrition interventions, and multisectoral nutrition frameworks. This training provides in-depth knowledge on nutrition vulnerability analysis, resilience programming, seasonal hunger mitigation, and shock-responsive social protection systems that strengthen household and community nutrition security.

Participants will gain practical competencies in nutrition needs assessments, SMART indicators, nutrition-sensitive value chains, food system transformation, behavior change communication (BCC), and monitoring and evaluation for nutrition programs. Through participatory learning, field-based case studies, and real humanitarian program examples, learners will master the skills needed to reduce stunting, wasting, micronutrient deficiencies, and diet-related non-communicable diseases.

By the end of this course, participants will be fully equipped to design, implement, monitor, and scale high-impact nutrition-sensitive and nutrition resilience programs that improve household dietary diversity, strengthen local food systems, build shock-resilient livelihoods, and contribute to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on zero hunger, good health, poverty reduction, and climate action.
