Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Course

The Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Course is designed to empower individuals and organizations with the knowledge and skills needed to address, prevent, and respond to issues surrounding gender-based violence. As a critical global issue, GBV impacts millions of individuals, particularly women and girls, who face discrimination, abuse, and violence based on their gender. This course equips participants with comprehensive strategies to understand the root causes, recognize the signs, and implement effective interventions that protect vulnerable populations and promote gender equality.

Throughout this course, participants will gain a deep understanding of the different forms of gender-based violence, including physical, sexual, psychological, and economic abuse. Special emphasis is placed on exploring the cultural, social, and legal frameworks that perpetuate GBV and how these frameworks can be transformed to foster safer communities. Participants will also learn to integrate gender-responsive approaches into their policies and programs, ensuring long-term sustainability in combating GBV.

The course provides hands-on training on how to implement GBV response services, including psychosocial support, legal aid, and medical assistance. It further explores the role of key stakeholders—such as community leaders, government institutions, NGOs, and international organizations—in addressing GBV. Case studies will be used to showcase successful initiatives in reducing gender-based violence across various contexts, including conflict-affected regions, urban settings, and marginalized communities.

By the end of this program, participants will be equipped with practical tools to design and implement effective GBV prevention and response strategies. The course also focuses on building multi-sectoral partnerships to ensure that interventions are holistic and inclusive, helping to break the cycle of violence and support survivors in their recovery and empowerment journeys.
