The Gender course is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of gender issues, their social and cultural construction, and the impact they have on individuals and society. This course aims to equip individuals with the knowledge and tools to promote gender equality, challenge gender norms, and advocate for women's rights.

Course Objectives:

 By the end of the course, participants will:

  6. Explore women's rights issues, including violence against women, reproductive rights, and economic empowerment.
  7. Understand the importance of men's engagement in gender equality efforts.
  8. Acquire practical skills for gender mainstreaming in policies, programs, and organizations.
  9. Learn effective advocacy and communication strategies for promoting gender equality.
  10. Foster a network of professionals working in the field of gender and women's rights.

Course Duration:

5 Days

Course Outline:

 Day 1:

  • Introduction to gender concepts and terminology
  • Historical perspectives on gender and feminism
  • Understanding the social construction of gender roles and stereotypes

Day 2:

  • Analyzing the intersections of gender with race, class, and other social categories
  • Exploring the impact of gender inequality on individuals and societies
  • Introduction to gender-based violence and its manifestations

Day 3:

  • Examining women's rights issues, including reproductive rights, economic empowerment, and political participation
  • Gender mainstreaming and its application in policies and programs
  • Engaging men and boys in gender equality efforts

Day 4:

  • Strategies for challenging gender norms and promoting gender equality
  • Gender-responsive planning and budgeting
  • Case studies and best practices in gender mainstreaming

Day 5:

  • Effective advocacy and communication for gender equality
  • Engaging with media and using storytelling for gender justice
  • Action planning for participants' specific contexts and areas of work

 

General Notes

·         All our courses can be Tailor-made to participants' needs

·         The participant must be conversant in English

·         Presentations are well-guided, practical exercises, web-based tutorials, and group work. Our facilitators are experts with more than 10 years of experience.

·         Upon completion of training the participant will be issued with a Foscore development center certificate (FDC-K)

·         Training will be done at the Foscore development center (FDC-K) centers. We also offer inhouse and online training on the client schedule

·         Course duration is flexible and the contents can be modified to fit any number of days.

·         The course fee for onsite training includes facilitation training materials, 2 coffee breaks, a buffet lunch, and a Certificate of successful completion of Training. Participants will be responsible for their own travel expenses and arrangements, airport transfers, visa application dinners, health/accident insurance, and other personal expenses.

·         Accommodation, pickup, freight booking, and Visa processing arrangement, are done on request, at discounted prices.

·         Tablet and Laptops are provided to participants on request as an add-on cost to the training fee.

·         One-year free Consultation and Coaching provided after the course.

·         Register as a group of more than two and enjoy a discount of (10% to 50%)

·         Payment should be done before commence of the training or as agreed by the parties, to the FOSCORE DEVELOPMENT CENTER account, so as to enable us to prepare better for you.
