Course Overview

The Social Cohesion and Conflict Prevention Training Course is a comprehensive professional development program designed to strengthen the capacity of government institutions, humanitarian organizations, United Nations agencies, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), civil society organizations (CSOs), peacebuilding institutions, development partners, community-based organizations, and local leaders in promoting peaceful coexistence, preventing conflict, strengthening community resilience, and fostering inclusive development. The course equips participants with advanced knowledge and practical skills in social cohesion, conflict prevention, peacebuilding, conflict analysis, mediation, dialogue facilitation, community engagement, governance, social inclusion, human rights, gender equality, youth participation, Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL), early warning systems, resilience building, and sustainable development. Participants develop practical competencies to identify conflict risks, strengthen social cohesion, facilitate inclusive dialogue, promote reconciliation, and implement evidence-based conflict prevention strategies within humanitarian and development contexts.

Communities across the world increasingly face social fragmentation, political instability, resource-based conflicts, violent extremism, forced displacement, ethnic tensions, climate-induced insecurity, and socioeconomic inequalities that undermine peace and sustainable development. Building resilient societies requires strengthening trust, inclusion, cooperation, accountability, and equitable access to opportunities while addressing the structural drivers of conflict. This training introduces internationally recognized frameworks including the United Nations Sustaining Peace Agenda, Sustainable Development Goal 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions), Human Rights-Based Approach (HRBA), Do No Harm Framework, Conflict Sensitivity Framework, Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS), Sphere Humanitarian Standards, and Results-Based Management (RBM). Participants learn practical approaches to conflict analysis, peacebuilding, stakeholder engagement, community participation, policy development, institutional strengthening, and resilience programming that promote long-term peace and stability.

Throughout the course, participants gain practical experience in conflict mapping, stakeholder analysis, social cohesion assessments, dialogue facilitation, mediation, reconciliation, participatory planning, community mobilization, early warning systems, conflict-sensitive programming, monitoring peacebuilding interventions, policy advocacy, digital engagement, and institutional learning. Practical exercises, simulations, community dialogue sessions, participatory workshops, and real-world case studies strengthen participants' leadership, communication, analytical thinking, negotiation, and collaborative problem-solving skills while promoting inclusive governance, community ownership, and evidence-based decision-making. The course also emphasizes gender-responsive programming, disability inclusion, youth empowerment, climate resilience, social accountability, innovation, and adaptive management.

7.     Onsite Training Inclusions: The course fee for onsite training covers facilitation, training materials, two coffee breaks, a buffet lunch, and a Certificate of Successful Completion. Participants are responsible for their travel expenses, airport transfers, visa applications, dinners, health/accident insurance, and personal expenses.
