Disaster Risk Reduction Mapping Training Course

Disaster Risk Reduction Mapping is a comprehensive training program designed to equip participants with advanced knowledge and practical skills in the identification, assessment, mapping, monitoring, and management of disaster risks using Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Remote Sensing, spatial analysis, hazard modeling, and disaster management technologies. Increasing occurrences of floods, droughts, landslides, earthquakes, wildfires, storms, epidemics, and climate-induced hazards have highlighted the importance of effective disaster risk reduction strategies. Organizations worldwide are increasingly adopting geospatial technologies and disaster intelligence systems to improve preparedness, mitigation, response, and recovery efforts. This course provides participants with practical expertise in hazard mapping, vulnerability assessment, exposure analysis, risk modeling, emergency planning, and disaster resilience building.

The course introduces participants to modern disaster risk reduction methodologies that integrate GIS platforms, satellite imagery, drone mapping, climate data, environmental monitoring systems, population datasets, infrastructure inventories, and disaster management frameworks. Participants will learn how to collect, process, integrate, analyze, and visualize disaster-related information to support risk assessment, early warning systems, contingency planning, emergency response coordination, and resilience planning. 7.     Onsite Training Inclusions: The course fee for onsite training covers facilitation, training materials, two coffee breaks, a buffet lunch, and a Certificate of Successful Completion. Participants are responsible for their travel expenses, airport transfers, visa applications, dinners, health/accident insurance, and personal expenses.
