GIS for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Training Course

Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is a comprehensive training program designed to equip participants with advanced knowledge and practical skills in leveraging geospatial technologies to support the planning, monitoring, implementation, and evaluation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. As governments, development agencies, NGOs, research institutions, and private sector organizations strive to achieve the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, GIS has emerged as a critical tool for integrating spatial data, analyzing development challenges, monitoring indicators, and supporting evidence-based decision-making. This course provides participants with practical expertise in GIS, Remote Sensing, spatial analytics, geospatial data management, and SDG indicator mapping to strengthen sustainable development initiatives.

The course introduces participants to the application of GIS and Remote Sensing technologies across various SDGs, including poverty reduction, food security, health, education, gender equality, clean water and sanitation, affordable and clean energy, climate action, sustainable cities, biodiversity conservation, and environmental sustainability. Participants will learn how to collect, manage, analyze, and visualize spatial data to monitor SDG indicators, assess development progress, identify geographical disparities, and support policy formulation. Through practical exercises and real-world case studies, participants will gain hands-on experience in developing geospatial databases, interactive dashboards, thematic maps, and decision-support systems for sustainable development planning.

Organizations increasingly require spatial intelligence to understand complex socioeconomic and environmental interactions that influence sustainable development outcomes. This course enables participants to apply GIS methodologies for development planning, vulnerability assessment, resource allocation, environmental monitoring, disaster risk reduction, climate resilience, infrastructure development, and impact evaluation. 5.     Training Locations: Training sessions are conducted at Foscore Development Center (FDC-K) centers. We also offer options for in-house and online training, customized to the client's schedule.

6.     Flexible Duration: Course durations are adaptable, and content can be adjusted to fit the required number of days.

7.     Onsite Training Inclusions: The course fee for onsite training covers facilitation, training materials, two coffee breaks, a buffet lunch, and a Certificate of Successful Completion. Participants are responsible for their travel expenses, airport transfers, visa applications, dinners, health/accident insurance, and personal expenses.

8.     Additional Services: Accommodation, pickup services, freight booking, and visa processing arrangements are available upon request at discounted rates.
